My name is Heather Williams and I'm an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of New Brunswick (UNB), Fredericton. I am a member of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBME) and conduct my research under the Supervision of Dr. Erik Scheme. Drawing from my Mechanical Engineering background, I've chosen to focus my research on medical applications of mechanical design and control. It is primarily based on deep learning, towards offering individuals with amputation intuitive and reliable prosthesis control.
